Saturday night

Check it out! I actually put a title for this post!

Anyway here are some pictures from Saturday night. We didn't realize we were going out until about 6 p.m when we started putting on some cool fake nails and fake eye lashes like maniacs. This time we headed off for Brick Lane. The theme of the night was supposed to be "koolish" and not posh, I don't know if we managed to look either - well you can judge yourselves.
Anyway, Malin having a flu we were heading back home around 1 am when two blokes asked us to come to their houseparty.

It turned out the houseparty was not much of a party but we were mixing wine and vodka quite successfully so it was alright - although as a revenge we stole their Fanta and cigarettes (note: we DON'T smoke) when we finally left the place after 8 am.

Good times.

Look mom, no pants!

Ok I just need to tell you how I love the blokes I see everyday on my way to work and back home.

Did I say blokes? I meant the man gods!

Streets full of good-looking, handsome, hot, typical british guys. Even if it’s raining I just can’t help but love making my way to work!

And now there are two of them in our office as well! Yesterday I found out there will be a new guy starting to work in our office today. This guy, let’s call him P, is my new future husband. He may not know it yet but he will. Anyway, although I already checked him on facebook and it seems he’s got a wifey and a kid, I can always enjoy the view, eh?

The other one is my long-time love and a daydream, our very own Nordic director who I work with (see older posts). No need to tell more he is simply a charmer. He is gonna quit in September so it’s about time we got another handsome soul locked here inside the concrete building.

There is also J. He is a charming british lad as well, I met him at the pub a bit more than a week ago. The plan is to meet up towards the end of the week and I am realllly looking forward to it. He is not working in our office, but he’s working in Cannon Street area so just nearby.

Enough of men now. Will have to get back to you later though, actually got some work t do!

Wouldn't mind having them working here.

Byeeeeee!

Although I have been quite as free as a bird last week I still haven't had time to write a blog post! Because now that I am finally having precious days off and my flatmate Malin has also had some time for chilling we ended up going out more than once! GOOD TIMES! On tuesday night we ended up going to Jewel Bar in Piccadilly which was quite dead so we headed for Leicester Square and ended up drinking tequila and sambouga shots in Zoo Bar. Had loads of fun. And because that was not enough we went out again on Saturday with Malin's friends from Sweden. We started the night with a proper dinner and pre-drinks at O'Neills pub at Bank from where we headed, again, to Leicester Square to Metra club. Leicester Square is a place to be if you want to have a proper club mood on, and I had a blast, but next time I would love to go to either Shoreditch or to Brick Lane both of which have their very own quirky attitude!

Photos will follow later when I'm home. I started at the office full-time now so won't be home during the day anymore.

Laterrrrs!

EDIT/ HOW YELLOW CAN A PERSON LOOK IN A PHOTO. LOOK AT ME. I'm dying here!

Now I'll tell you a bit about my awesome job at the pub!

The pub is called Silver Cross and it is located literally in the heart of London (Trafalgar Square is officially the middle point of London), right next to Trafalgar Square, between Big Ben and Trafalgar. It gets quite mental sometimes, with loads of tourists pouring in and all the locals popping in. The pub is a traditional English pub with a variety of British ales and English food on offer. I think that goes as a official introduction.

I got the job by going to an open day at the end of April. I was looking for another part-time job back then and it was the first job I applied for, and I got it. I was happy because in winter it took months to find a job. I just went there and had a chat with the manager and did not even have to go to an interview (like other guys who started at the same time had to). I couldn't have been happier. :) AND my horoscope said that exactly that day of April would be a great day for job opportunities! I do believe in horoscopes!

Anyway, the pub is probably like millions of other English pubs. What makes it very special for me are the people working there, looooooovely people. I get along extremely well with every single one of them and I have a blast every time I go there. We have had some crazy nights out as well. I was there full-time until they offered me more hours at the office so now I only work at the pub on Fridays, would love to work there more but what can I say, at the office it is much better money and the job is much easier.

At the pub I work as a waitress and as a bar maid. I have never worked in a pub before so learning everything about beers and ales and wines was quite a job but now I handle it all quite well. :) Yesterday I was working again and it was mental, I don't think even Queen's jubilee was quite that bad. So many people crowding at the pub and only drinking, not eating. That means that people working on the floor had an easy day but us behind the bar had quite a time!

Our team consists of people from Australia, England, Poland, Spain, France, Italy (my favorites, have so crazy much fun with the Italian dudes!), Portugal, Switzerland and not sure if there are other countries. Oh yes of course Finland as well with me working there...! So we are quite an international and I like it.

That's a quick summary of my job.. Can't boast about it enough, I just like it! Sometimes I feel I could just quit at the office and start full-time at the pub again but I guess I have to think about my future and especially my studies and that the office job helps a lot with them as well.

Here are a few pictures from the pub :)

I made it through the first year of uni!

I am such a lucky bastard. After the second semester started at the beginning of February I actually went to uni regularly and at least tried to work hard. However, certain things started distract me already about a month after the start of semester and I got lazier and lazier. Want to hear how I completed my coursework?

(And just to mention the first and the last time I actually used the uni's library was in mid-spring. Ooops.)

Here is a list of coursework I had to do:

- 1500 word economic essay about my chosen company (I chose SAS - Scandinavian Airlines)
- 1500word essay about facilities management and outsourcing services in theory
- 2500 word essay about the same thing in practice
- 2500 word portfolio discussing articles about businesses and ecological sustainability

Trust me I am not proud when I tell you that three of these four pieces of coursework I started writing either the night before the deadline, and one essay I even started writing in the morning of the deadline day.

And they let me through! And what's more, the grades were actually pretty good! And I DO have my reasons for the poor time-management: the last week of April I started working 7 days a week and some days more than 10 hours. So I did not have any time for anything. And basically all the coursework was due in May. Busy times!

Anyway, they do say that the first year of uni is quite easy and it really was, and I promise to work much much much harder on my second year. I do!

Besides I have always been pretty good at doing school work at the last minute and just coming up with stuff without reading any literature. For example, from secondary school I graduated with a grade average of 9,5 (10 is the best grade you can get) with not much effort put on studying. Lucky me!

Anyway, as you know I'm back in London again, enjoying the weekend after working at the office and the pub. I have promised myself to spend this day only doing things I want to so right now I'm downloading a movie and eating strawberries and chocolate after a two-hour walk in Epping forest.

I probably have free time to write posts about my holiday in Finland and about my job at the pub later today. I might pop into O'Neills pub at Bank later this evening tho as my lovely flatmate is working her arse off there and I might just make her day better by going to have a beer there haha! Anyways tomorrow's hopefully going to be a pub day as well with the Euro final Spain-Italy, or as my wonderful manager at the pub said, Spanish cunts against Italian real men, tsk tsk. I support Spain so we had a bit of an argument there. Anyway, tomorrow is hopefully going to include beer and football - goodness, sometimes I think whether I was supposed to be born a man!

Oh and sorry about the lack of pictures! Will fix it soon!

Latersss!

Won't be sacrificing any time for the blog for a little while.

Please please please do I really have to stay at the office today!

Yet here I am. Don't get me wrong, I like my job in the City, just not today. The girl I usually work next to and with who I usually chat through the day is on a holiday and I'm alone in a room of male consultants talking about loss adjusting and insurances. Excuse me?

See, I have been working here since January as a team assistant. Funnily enough, they found my ad saying I was looking for a job at a PUB and emailed me whether I was interested in a job at the office. Back then I was in desperate need of money, so after two interviews I luckily got the job.

Six months of working here does not mean I understand a shit of what they actually do! I mean yes they have explained some stuff and as I might be becoming a full-time worker here soon they have been talking about delegating Nordic marketing/case handling to me. Not sure what it would involve but sounds pretty good. And as far as I know our Nordic director has been handing out my CV's in Finland to important people such as managing directors of Pohjola or If, with plans involving me more with our contacts in Finland. To me that sounds pretty promising when thinking about my future career.

But calm down it's not that cool, today I have just been making some business travel itineraries and browsing on Facebook. Whoops I dind't just say that!

See I used to sit in the comfy room of our support staff section. Then they transferred me. Now I sit in the main consultant's room facing the Nordic director as I'm supposed to work with him. I don't mind since I got the best place in the whole office! Basically - I am facing the whole room and my back is to the wall. Think about the possibilities. Wherever I get bored I go on Facebook or read horoscopes. It's sneaky but no one can see ANYTHING I am doing so it's pretty awesome!

And oh, today. I am going to visit home tomorrow so my motivation for work is ZERO at the moment. Holiday, holiday, holiday, holiday!

Does not really help that all the phone calls I have answered today are from people who don't actually know what they are calling about and who they want to talk to. Well please people anyone but me! Don't talk to me I am just an assistant. I transfer the calls - not advise you on a claim, ok?

And I'm having the worst tooth ache for ages. I'm pretty sure it's my wisdom tooth I've been so hard trying to ignore. But no more about that I keep ignoring it as well as I can, I hate dentists.

I will tell you more about my other job at the pub later because it is pretty awesome. Pouring beer and making extremely good jokes with weird people. Later!

My today's outfit. I won't normally post about outfits but I rather like this one. :)

Anyways I go back to work now and in less than 24 hours I will be in my home country. COULD I be more excited! (Well I have to wake up at 4am so there is one thing I am not excited about).

See you once I'm in Finland!!
